A Google Search has not yielded any positive or specific solution to the problem. So it is all going to hit and trial and error and rectification.

SFC Scan procedure

Click Start and the search box type in CMD. Right click on CMD and select ‘Run As Administrator’. In the command prompt black window, type in the following

sfc /scannow

This will start a clean up process. Repeat a couple of times if necessary.

Add another administrator user and delete the old one later

If you are already logged in as an admin, you can create another admin user. Here is an excellent tutorial on how to create an admin account to make the problem go away. But this one should be the last option since you admin account and profile will be deleted permanently.

A nice tutorial explained in detailed steps.

Restore default security permissions for hard disk partitions

This simple reset might actually work well.

  • Open User Accounts in the Control Panel.
  • Go to User Account Control Settings.
  • Whatever the settings, just toggle or change it.
  • Restart your PC.
  • Go back to User Account Control Settings and set it back to your preference.

Please let me know in comments if the problem has been solved.
